B4: Small Wins LIMITED

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Limited Capacity seats available

Three NAIT Students' Association Exectuve share their leadership experiences and stories to encourage you to create ways to get small wins to make big differences.

Justin: “Curious that we spend more time congratulating people who have succeeded than encouraging people who have not.” – Neil deGrasse Tyson.
When to let go & move on, when to say no, and when to push forward – Knowing your limits and goals. Different opportunities I have engaged in as a student as well as the work I have done in NAITSA as an executive and how students can effect change. Small wins and gaining confidence in the roles that were engaged in created more opportunities and effected change.

Gillian: “If the plan doesn’t work, change the plan, not the goal”.
Being VP Student Services for NAITSA since May 2014, Gillian has been working continuously to promote mental health and create initiatives to benefit students on campus. Networking with people in the province, local community and within Nait, has allowed this project to succeed.

Kaylee: “We don’t want to show students where to find things… (We have maps for that). We want to show students where they fit”. Students can find their way around campus, jobs and life using the many resources available to them. What students have difficulty finding is where they fit. Building confidence is a key aspect of helping students understand who they are and practice their skills to help them develop as leaders and contribute to the success of their peers.
