We're all told that self care is important and that we should do it, and yet, for many leaders, sleep, exercise, and eating well are some of the first things jettisonned in service of our causes. In the long run, this damages not only our own health, but the health of our causes as a whole. This is a discussion of compelling reasons to pursue the sometimes "selfish" practice of self-care in the service of broader goals, and includes some practical strategies for making this happen as part of organisational/group culture.
